Sophia is at Golden Camera Awards held at the Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarktin in Berlin. She, along with beloved friend and actor Marcello Mastroianni, receives a Lifetime Achievement award. Vienna Opera Ball - February 23 Sophia attends at Vienna's Opera House the glamorous Opera Ball, which is the highlight of the Austrian carnival season. Sophia reportedly makes a cool $75,000 by attending the event. Nastro d'Oro Awards- March 18 Sophia is in Rome with her sister Maria to receive a special Nastro d'oro at Palazzo Madama along with Michelangelo Antonioni and Alberto Sordi who receive the same distinction. San Francisco Museum of Modern Art Gala - April 1 Clad in a beautiful Armani chiffon gown Sophia attends with Carlo a black-tie dinner gala, called "Una Serata con Sophia", at the San Francisco Museum where she is presented with the first Amici dell'Italia award. Prior to the main event, Sophia and Carlo are guests of Italian Consul General Giulio Prigioni and his wife Esther for a Friday dinner at their home. In addition to the dinner, SFMOMA hosts a retrospective of Loren's films throughout the week. Notte dei Telegatti - May 8 Both Sophia and Marcello Mastroianni receive a TV International award Platinum Telegatto at the Notte dei Telegatti ceremonies held at Milan's Teatro Ventaglio Nazionale. The annual event, sponsored by Sorrisi e Canzoni magazine, is followed by a gala night at the Società del Giardino. Memorable moment of the evening is Sophia and Marcello kissing on stage as they are presented their award. Grumpier Old Men - December 14 Sophia attends the Hollywood premiere of her new film with other cast members at the Mann's Bruin Theater in Westwood, CA.
