Sophia receives a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Chicago Festival just in time for the world premiere of her new movie, Sabato, Domenica e Lunedì, her first feature film in eleven years. Reception at the AMA Building on State Street hosted by Festival president Michael J. Kutza.

Italian government returns to Sophia the art treasures - 38 paintings kept at the Villa Manzoni, in Lecco, - they confiscated from her and Carlo Ponti in 1976. Paris Match publishes a story stating that Sophia's collection is worth $11 billion, making her - easily - one of the richest women in the world.
